Basmati Rice (Re-Packaging Project)

For This project, I had to design an unconventional, innovative premium package for dry goods food packaging. Strengths and weaknesses of the previous packaging were highlighted. The package is re designed to reflect a more oriental feel in order to compete visually in upscale grocery stores.

Final Product Design

Key Process Stages

1) Ink Experiments

After researching on the origins of Basmati rice, I wanted to create an oriental feel to the package. I started looking at Chinese ink paintings and started experimenting with ink as a possible background for the package.

2) Dieline

After the container and design was approved, I created a dieline in order to confirm the sizes of the product. A resealable bag was chosen in order to preserve the freshness of the rice.

3) 3D Renders

3D renders were created as mockup of the product.

4) Final Design

The Art of Sensing ( Interactive iBook)

“Magic is really only the utilization of the entire spectrum of the senses. Humans have cut themselves off from their senses. Now they see only a tiny portion of the visible spectrum, hear only the loudest of sounds, their sense of smell is shockingly poor and they can only distinguish the sweetest and sourest of tastes.”  The art of sensing is an ibook that calls for slowing down and appreciating our senses. The iBook can be found on iBook store.
